Aisling gathered a large log of oak, a remenant from the Yule bonfire they had lit last year. Its bark was scarred from the greedy flames, but it still held together. The wood was resilient, just as the forest was. Once more, Aisling set the oak alight in a blazing bonfire. The flames jigged in their eternal dance of life and death. The dance of the sun, moon, and earth in rhythm with one another. The ebb and flow of day and night, life and death, winter and summer. A dance where two opposites can exist at the same time and touch one another. Light is just overlit shadows. Moon reflects sun, just as death reflects life. Two halves of one whole.
