Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer arrive in the Wood Between the Worlds. This is a silent, twilight dimension completely separate from Earth and Narnia.

Each pool is an active portal leading to an entirely different universe. Step into the wrong water, and you could fall into a dying empire or a world yet to be born.
