StarVan Sirra (3650-55)

Both SkyTrain and VanWinder dedicated their assembly lines to the large colonizer ships that carried the Outpost Era forward. The growing need for private transport, moderately met by existing manufacturers, opened up a market both knew it could be catastrophic to ignore.

The Sirra was, for all intents and purposes, the first StarVan in production, although the company was not formed until 3650. Material, equipment, and even some key personnel from SkyTrain and VanWinder relocated to Iskiri to locally produce a small surface/space hopper for the private market. It was an instant hit on Iskiri, but less popular elsewhere. The 'quaint' styling was often seen as an odd style choice, if not ridiculed outright. It is rumored that founder Alissa Vander may have done this intentionally, to associate the name 'Sirra' with poor, outdated taste.
