The Scythians were an ancient large nomadic equestrian-based tribe based in Ukraine, but roamed all over Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Contemporaries of ancient Greeks, they didn't leave behind writings, but are most famous for 3 things: 1) their burial mound 'kurgans' where their gold ornaments are found; 2) their women were the source of the stories of Amazons, as many were warriors on horseback; and 3) they are known for their gold ornaments, often decorated with animals. The stashes in Ukraine and Ukrainian museums were taken by muskovites both previously and in this latest invasive war, because they are hogs, and war criminals.
