Favorite time of day 2

The sun dips below the treetops, painting the sky in strokes of lavender and gold. I’m on the back deck of my country estate, the weathered wood warm beneath me. This is my favorite time of day.

I take a slow draw from my cigar, the smoke curling lazily into the cooling air. The glass in my hand holds three fingers of Angel’s Envy, its amber glow catching the last light. I take a sip, the bourbon’s rich, smooth warmth spreading through me. In this quiet, golden hour, the world feels perfectly still, and I am completely, peacefully, content.
