The Air Genasi

Zephyra was born to a colony of sky-sailors, her childhood spent dancing on the rigging of a great floating gale-ship. But her airy nature was a curse; she was "tethered" to the vessel by enchanted golden shackles to prevent her from drifting away into the slipstream. During a catastrophic lightning storm, the ship’s hull shattered. To save her family, Zephyra channeled a cyclone to hold the wreckage together, but the sheer force of the wind her own element tore her loved ones from her grasp, casting them into the infinite clouds below. Now, she wanders the earth in flowing silks, her golden jewelry a constant, heavy reminder of the chains she once wore and the family she couldn't hold onto. She listens to every breeze, desperate to hear a single familiar voice carried on the wind.
