Beat officers, political purity police, anti-vice, prethoughtcrime prevention - law enforcement entities spawn like rats in the crevices and cracks of fascistic bureaucracy. But none is so dreaded as the ”corvids”, so nicknamed for their black-on-black uniforms with their ostentatious fringed epaulettes resembling feathers.

Chuckle about “crows”, “corvids”, or the perennial favorite “panopticops” among friends at your own risk. Despite their high visibility they officially do not exist, and so any mention even in jest is a slur on the state and a felonious act. Unless you’re a wealthy oligarch, getting caught earns you a one way ticket to either the frigid polar wastes at best or their dungeons at worst. They don’t call the side door at secret police HQ the “door of the disappeared” for nothing…
