By the time she was finished, her account looked like a blank slate. The only posts left were of her artwork. A timeline of ink and charcoal, watercolors and sketches. No more distractions. No more Lena, the face. Only Lena, the artist.

But that wasn’t enough.

Reintroducing Herself

She opened a blank canvas on her digital tablet, sketching the outline of a figure. Her own. The folds of her hijab draped softly, her mask a smooth, faceless presence. Instead of erasing herself, she was reclaiming her image.

... When the portrait was complete, she uploaded it with a single caption:

"This is me."

Then, she began typing.

A New Beginning

To everyone who has followed my art, supported my work, and been a part of my journey—I want to share something important with you. ...

... For a long time, I struggled with the way I was perceived online. I love art. I love creating. But I found myself caught in a space where my face seemed to matter more than my work. People saw me, but they didn’t always see what I made. They saw a young woman before they saw an artist.

I don’t want that anymore.

From now on, I choose to exist differently. I choose to remove my face from the equation, not out of fear, but out of control. I want my art to speak for itself, without the filter of how I look. ...

.... "You’re so gorgeous!"
"Stunning artist!"
"Your art is amazing, but wow, you’re beautiful too!"

Lena’s stomach twisted. Had they ever truly seen her art? Or had they only seen her?

Her fingers hovered over the "delete" button. One by one, the posts disappeared. Every image that showed her uncovered face, her hair, her carefully crafted presence—gone. It was meticulous work, erasing what had once been a curated online identity. ...
