The Great Giraffe Polo Championship of 1925
by © emma cha

A remarkable sporting event, captured for posterity in 1925!

Four distinguished pumpkin-headed polo players, mounted on galloping giraffes, compete for the championship title. Their unfortunate ball, a thoroughly terrified watermelon, seems rather less enthusiastic about the proceedings.

A rare photographic treasure from a sporting tradition that, for reasons unknown, never quite caught on.
