"Pippy-petal," Tiga began, her voice soft, "we're going to help you heal. You're safe here now."
Pippy nodded slowly, her lilac eyes fixed on the necklace she clutched tightly in her hands. It was a simple piece of metal, worn smooth with time and worry. "It was my parents'," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "It's all I have left of them."
"I understand its importance," Tiga replied, her green eyes filled with empathy. "During our initial conversation, you mentioned… seeing things? Lights?"
Pippy hesitated, her ears twitching. "Sometimes," she admitted, her gaze dropping to the necklace. "Not often. Only… when I was in my safe place."
"Your safe place?" Tiga prompted gently.

She opened her hand slightly, revealing the dull metal. "Like… like a faint glow. It would shine through my fingers a little. And I… I thought maybe… maybe it was their spirits. My parents'." Her voice wavered. "But they're gone. So it must have just been… my imagination. A hallucination, right?" She looked at Tiga, a desperate plea for confirmation in her eyes.
Tiga’s ears drooped slightly in understanding. "Pippy," she said softly, "my own culture holds many beliefs about the spirits of our ancestors and the ways they can connect with us. It's not a bad thing to believe that it could have been their presence you felt."
