Lonely Masculinity

He had a rough exterior, a scarred face, and a gruff voice. He rarely smiled, and when he did, it was more of a smirk. He didn’t have many friends, and he kept to himself most of the time. He was used to being judged, avoided, and feared by others. But underneath his tough shell, he had a heart of gold. He loved animals, especially dogs, and he would always feed the stray ones he found on the streets. He volunteered at a local shelter, where he helped take care of the abandoned and abused pets. He was gentle and kind with them, and they loved him back. As a man, he had walked a lonely life, he had loved and lost. But none needed to know how much.
