Flirting with the waves

As they hiked through the sand dunes, she never thought they were going to get to the beach. But finally the dunes opened up to reveal the beach with a little bit of a breeze and waves crashing against the shore. She immediately went to the edge, letting the surf lap at her toes. She walked along the edge flirting with the waves, going out as the receded, then rushing back to safety as the the next wave rushed in. It didn't take long for her to go a little to far and not get back in time before the waves rushed around her feet. She had purposely not rolled up her jeans and now that they were a little bit wet, she was much more daring with her attempts at dodging the waves. After a while she stopped running all the way out of the water wading at the edge as the surf rolled in. Since she was a little bit wet, she wondered, just how long would it be before she gave in and went swimming.
