Unfortunately, the science of psychology has been tainted by psuedoscience. When a lot of people even hear the word, "psychology", they will immediately think of one of the most famous of those psuedoscience proponents, Sigmund Freud. Modern psychological science has nothing to do with this snake oil therapy. Freudian psychoanalysis is a pseudo-scientific pile of unicorn droppings dreamt up by a cocaine addicted, incompetent physician who almost killed one of his patients with a cocaine induced haemorrhage. Look that story up and take careful note of why he and his accomplice tried to burn the nose off of their patient with cocaine. Then ask yourself, "is this guy the genius he's been made out to be?" The answer is no. He was an incompetent doctor who's fantasy of psychoanalysis grew out of his cocaine addled mind and a refusal to believe his patients when they told him they were sexually abused by their parents. Psychoanalysis is just a form of victim blaming.
