Casa Vantari, the desert retreat of technologist and artist Nico Vantari, blends mid-century fantasy with Martian practicality. Situated near a dried-up lake bed, its circular form and obsidian dome echo retro-futuristic visions of off-world colonies. Inside, carpeted-textured walls meet glowing control panels, and every surface—floors, counters, ceilings—is responsive, shifting color and temperature to match the desert’s extremes. A central sunwell opens each morning with mechanical precision, spilling gold into a lounge where gravity feels just a little less firm.
