Setting

Sheffield (City A) — Northern English city, location of the refugee hotel. Isla’s patrols and protection duties unfold here amid social unrest.

London — High society circles, music venues, Ellie’s estates, and Kahlil’s neighbourhood; the centre of political tension and gang-related danger.

Time — Near-future, after Harvey Cole’s National Renewal Party wins national elections. Powers expand, civil liberties erode, and societal divisions grow.

Tariq, Rhys, and Mo — K-Star’s childhood friends, some involved in gang rivalries. One orders a hit on a suspected traitor, increasing tension around Kahlil and Ellie.

Harvey Cole — Far-right leader who gains power nationally after exploiting fears over immigration, crime, and “foreign influence.” Publicly ambassadoric; privately ruthless, expanding civil powers and enforcing strict policies.

Duchess Eleanor “Ellie” Worthington — Member of a noble family, modern and curious but weighed down by tradition. Educated, independent, yet constrained by societal expectations.
