Having lost my - way too young- darling husband to cancer, I know exactly what you mean when you say "toxic positivity". It is downright awful and it makes you feel like you cannot share your struggles because people can't or won't understand. I rather have it people say nothing at all than throw these toxic "positive" platitudes at you.
