The original prompt called for the style of Boris Vallejo. I was thinking that it would be nice if Elves and Orcs could find a less bloody way to channel their aggressive feelings towards one another. A merciless chess tournament, for instance, where the winning side gets bragging rights for the next year.
I assume that these two players have qualified as the current reigning champions of their respective species, and now they're setting up the board for the annual showdown. The title reflects the idea that neither side is going to "go easy" on the other. The spectators, of course, will be placing bets on the outcome.
