The Mark of the Chosen

Ever since the rise of the Crimson King back in the east in the province of Ghorium, unicorns have made themselves scarce in Ethoes and have disappeared from within the borders of Oescienne. However, it is said that they will once more return to Oescienne when the time has come for Chosen One to be found. The Chosen of Ethoes, Jahrraneh Drisihn, saw a bronze stallion within the forest behind her home, the Wreing Florenn. Curious and mysteriously drawn to this magical creature of light, she follows it and the stallion leads her to a whole herd of unicorns grazing in a peaceful meadow. These creatures’ whinnies are airy and light, bringing to the hearer a sense of peace and serenity, and their elegant horns are slightly curved, suited to the forest in which they live—curved so they can avoid tangling their horns in any low-hanging vines or branches. Now that these magical creatures have returned to Oescienne, the time is drawn near for the Chosen to face the Crimson King in his kingdom.
