The flames of the bombardment were still burning, creating a hellish landscape of smoke and ash. Reece was the first to clear this sector, but he knew better than to let his guard down. "Steady on there! Mike Two One, we still need to clear this pile here!" He pointed at a collapsed building that could be hiding enemy forces. Reece controlled the tactical elements in this war, he had lived this long from being careful, not careless.

The mech was a monstrous machine of death, a relic from the old world that the regime had salvaged and repurposed for their own ends.
