Wow, what a beautifully composed poem! A wonderfully unique and effective way to depict a persisting light in the darkness - what perseverance of the sunlight has that even its shadow may provide such comfort in night's lonely darkness. The images are gorgeous too, the practically all-black background working well to emphasize the faintly glowing outline of her figure and the gorgeous glow of the moon's sliver. The girl's loneliness is well expressed, her warm, cozy clothing, faint light, and the darkness all around her creating a feeling of fading hope and a struggle to keep herself warm. And then there is the sliver of moon, hanging delicately by her, a gentle comfort, a reminder that she need not be the only light in the dark. And suspended in the moment, the waning moon might as well begin to wax.
