Diving into the Future

Happy New Year 2025, I guess. 2024 was kind of trash, but it had its moments. I can only say that because I've learned to lower my expectations for life considerably. I've also learned that even when I expect nothing, I'm still often let down. I don't hold out any particular hope that 2025 will be better. Even if some spectacular success were suddenly to befall me, success can be easily taken away, or turn out not to be what you thought it was. And even if you succeed, it doesn't make up for the years wasted on trying things that didn't work, or from having others steal things that should have been yours. The only real success is to learn to be at peace with yourself, and this is something I have yet to accomplish.
