EPISODE 6 — The Company That Isn’t There

Maeve and Ingrid trace Vale Industrial Services to an abandoned riverside maintenance yard.

Official records say the company closed in 1989.

But inside the old office, they find paperwork dated years later.

Vehicle logs.

Fuel receipts.

Motel reimbursements.

Payroll envelopes.

And photographs of the same dark pickup.

One image shows the truck with the damaged rear light clearly visible.

Another surprise follows.

Daniel Mercer’s garage appears repeatedly in the maintenance records.

Then Maeve finds a crew photograph.

Mercer is standing beside several Vale Industrial employees.

He had told them he barely knew the company existed.

Ingrid discovers one more detail hidden in an old personnel file.

An employee is listed only by the initials R.V.

Every page that should identify him is missing.

The company may be gone.

But someone kept using it.
