Took me awhile to get this one----very subtle, Mr. Hollywood....

if someone told me i could have been called by my middle name donald i would have use it. because "donny" is my favorite name. they gave me that name so i could use it, but they never told me i could use it. on one hand i dislike patriarchal and patrilineal social constructs, i'm cornered into being part of one.  my dad was donald. dad met dr. openhiemer when he was in high school and they corresponded by mail. he was born in 1928.  his dad was donald, born in 1894 and he started his family when he moved to the west as a captain in the 10th cavalry. i'm the family baby.  all my cousins from donald are boomers, i'm genX.  and of all of my cousins, i'm the only donald.  after my dad died two years ago i decided i could be donald hawley now. i just hate seeing my name associated with a certain person.
