Jenni always strives to try local food, and as a big coffee fan, she was especially prepared for the legendary Viennese coffees. The Viennese coffeehouse culture would be worth a separate chapter anyway. Coffeehouses were pillars of social life in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Famous artists often sat at the tables, discussing with each other, but many writers and poets also created masterpieces next to these tables. This coffeehouse culture is also reflected in many other large cities of the former Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. But let's get back to culinary delights. Jenni ordered an Einspänner, which is a double espresso served in a glass glass, topped with a huge amount of cold whipped cream and powdered sugar. He asked for a typical "Wiener Frühstück" to eat, which includes a fresh, crispy Kaisersemmel (Kaisersemmel), butter, jam (most often apricot) or honey, and a soft egg, sometimes even real Viennese sausage.
