Waking up to a nor'easter

Just as the meteorologists predicted, the nor'easter struck the city with full force at midnight. The beautiful yet aging trees that define the charming streetscape of Park Slope are wailing in the storm as the wind twists and snaps their branches. The rain is driving almost horizontally, lashing against the windows, and the pressure of the wind can be felt against the glass itself. Someone who has been toiling all week—carrying the burdens of others, too—is certainly not pleased to find themselves denied rest yet again.
