Leonora Carrington (1917–2011) was a British-born Mexican artist and writer associated with the Surrealist movement. Her work is known for its dreamlike quality, deeply influenced by mythology, alchemy, esotericism, and her own personal experiences. She created a world populated by mystical creatures, androgynous figures, and otherworldly landscapes that blur the boundaries between reality and the subconscious.
