DSv8, SD 1.4 & 1.5 are great start images, VI:
Especially DSv8 is prone to generating extremely deep, "crushed" black shadows. Higher models often try to "fix" or over-illuminate them. But they "lock in" the moody, high-contrast lighting (Chiaroscuro) of the start image and simply populate them with realistic detail.
