Created for a challenge asking for a villainous couple. I decided to match up one character from Marvel and one from DC. I recently read a comic book in which the gold-plated robot villainess Mekanique was talking about working to achieve "the Great Human Purge." (She may have been involuntarily programmed to participate in that endeavor -- long story! -- but it still sounded like something Thanos would say.) 

My prompt asked for an oil painting in the style of Rembrandt.
