The masks room

This artwork shows the inner world of someone living with BPD — not through faces or storms, but through the masks they’ve learned to wear. Each mask hanging in the room reflects a different emotion: joy, fear, rage, love, confusion, and emptiness. Together they reveal the exhausting task of shifting identities just to survive, just to belong, just to avoid being left behind. The empty chair at the center represents the self beneath it all — waiting, wanting, unsure which version is real. In this piece, the cracked mask on the floor is the truth: the real self isn’t broken — just tired of pretending.
