So I took it to ChatGTP to analyze for further suggestions. ChatGTP made this image to show me what was missing.
I still preferred my NC image, but cut and pasted parts of ChatGTP's image with the GIMP to add depth and warmth - or a feeling of hope. However, sometimes when you face your fears there is absolutely no hope of surviving. That takes real courage, which ChatGTP obviously knows nothing of.
