Patterns of Violence

The attacks in Darfur were largely ethnic-based, targeting non-Arab groups such as the Fur, Masalit, and Zaghawa. Militias burned homes, destroyed crops, and killed livestock to prevent communities from returning. Many civilians fled to refugee camps in Sudan and neighboring Chad.

International Response

From 2004 onwards, the United Nations and African Union established peacekeeping forces and humanitarian aid operations, including UNAMID. Despite efforts, violence continued due to lack of effective enforcement and ongoing militia activity. Reports documented war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Well the morning did not go as planned as I had a early morning text from a client her ‘pet’ had misbehaved in the night and needed my help.
