This scene looks like I should be laying under that tree in the distance strumming on a lute.
Agreed... Does this look like a scene to daydream of or a scene to daydream in?
Congratulations NR!!! Your scene is so wonderful! I love turquoise coloured water and the bright pink looks so good with it. I gave the topmost score available when I saw this n the voting. I was hoping it would get a high place. (I didn't know that you posted it though). π
You saw mine in the voting again? What are the odds π I do wish the leaves were a bit clearer, but oh well, maybe that's what makes it look like a daydream
Anything is possible. I see quite a number in the voting section that I love and they turn out to belong to people I follow. Once I guessed who it might belong to - but I was wrong. π€£
PS. Yes re leaves, if too sharp the misty day dream can vanish. There are varying degrees of sharpness though that would still keep the dreamy feeling. But I think it's the overall view that attracts people in general, not those small details. The atmosphere, the colours and the composition are very important. π
Thanks 4 the advice! I think the Daily Challenge rating is mostly luck past a certain point in quality, I've submitted a few which I think to be personally better than this one, but were much further from the top.
I totally agree and have had many that started in the top 5% and then dropped way down in the later part of voting. It depends on who sees it, what their likes and dislikes are, whether they are the type to downvote others just for kicks ... or for keeping the distance between their own submission and the others, or just plain jealous lol. There's nothing that can be done about it though, so keep up the good work NR, there are many who appreciate your work. ππ
Yeah! Or they just clicked on accident. I once had a 4.15 rating for a couple of hours lol. I wonder how different the results would have been if the voting were open for another 24h
Sad, and yes I had some over 4 as well. There were too many big drops to all be slips, but I did experience a slip when giving a vote out. I didn't realise the cursor had gone over top of the 2 and I clicked and then it was too late. (that particular picture was not a great one hence I was over the 3 vote and the cursor had sidled to the left. Now I'm much more watchful where that cursor is concerned). I don't think we'll ever know the answer to the extra time for voting but it would be an interesting experiment.
