A tesseract is a 4 dimensional hypercube which consists of 6 distorted cubes plus one perfect cube within an outer cube. All cubes are the same size and shape but the only way to visualise them is to distort the shape of 6 of them and view the seventh as smaller when in fact they are all folded through the 4th dimension and misshapen to allow them all to occupy the same space.
