Trying out a 'new' prompt for a change - a break from my usual surreal monster stories.
Ivan Kupala Day is an ancient pagan and folk holiday. It was originally timed to coincide with the summer solstice. Now every year it is celebrated on July 7.
Ivan Kupala was considered in Russia a "loving", "cheerful", "clean" holiday. According to the legend, only on this day ferns bloom, which "light a girl's heart with lights for love". In addition, it was customary to swim in rivers, wash with healing dew, lead round dances, sing and dance.

Lovely...also celebrated in Ukraine and other Slavic countries...in Ukraine the women make vinoks (flower crowns) and then float them on water...for love wishes and magic 😄
