Quiet

This image got me 2nd place in a Promoted challenge and the 8th in the Masterpiece Monday Challenge 991.

I called it "Quiet" but of that almost uncontainable quiet. The heron is still, the water seems almost frozen in its trembling of reflections, the moon is an immutable disk in the sky. The moment captured, a "freeze frame". But despite the apparent immobility, there is an intrinsic strength in every element: the intense and dominant light of the moon that is the gravitational center of the scene. The delicate swaying and reflection of the water and the heron with its upright and proud posture, its elegant presence. Here the strength is not manifested in movement, but in the intensity of presence..
