Matilda returned to the dissident’s camp and entered her tent. She burned some incense and picked up the silver ball on the altar. The Lady's face appeared on the ball.
“Daughter of Eve, what news do you bring me?” the Lady asked.
Things were going to plan, my Lady, but we hit a snag. Those who are receiving your kiss are no longer feeling your bliss. It's like they're being…changed into their old selves,” Matilda replied.
“By whom?” the Lady asked.
“By Sister Helena and Sister Petronella. Only Sister Petronella did not dress like a nun. She was dressed in green clothes, like a man.”
“Were there others?” the Lady asked. Matilda nodded. “Describe them.”
“Yes, my Lady. There were eight altogether,” Matilda replied. “Armed with strange weapons. Dressed in strange green clothes.”
