The scout stood ankle-deep in cold water, armor humming with latent energy. Before him loomed Z Force, an ancient mech, weathered and colossal, its blue plating scarred by forgotten wars. Mist curled around its limbs like ghosts of past battles, and the forest behind held its breath.
He had trained for this moment, but nothing prepared him for the sheer scale, the quiet menace of the machine’s gaze. Was it dormant? Was it watching?
The scout’s visor flickered with data, but his heart beat louder. He raised his hand, not in threat, but in recognition.
The mech’s cockpit pulsed once, like a sleeping eye twitching in dream.
Above, pine trees swayed. Below, the water rippled. Between them, man and machine stood, neither enemies, not yet allies, but something older: echoes of purpose, waiting to be awakened.
