I look outside and notice it’s night time. “I think I should be going home…grandma will wonder where I went…” I tell them. “Yeah, it’s getting quite late, we should go Alex,” Ashley says while getting up and putting her seat back where it was, Alex doing the same. “Thank you Alex for everything you’ve done…” I tell him and he smiles. “No problem Crys,” he says, and I freeze for a second. Only Ashley calls me that, but it sounded so perfect when he said it. I just smile and try to push myself off his bed with my legs. My body feels fine, the only thing that hurts is the burns on my wrists. Big burns that run almost to my elbow. Jeez! “Let me help you,” Alex says, pushing me to the edge and helping me put my shoes on and helping me up. I smile. “Thanks Alex,” He nods, and brings us outside. “Tell me where you guys live, I’ll bring you there faster than walking.”
