Baglam began his life abandoned on the streets of Ellish-Phen. Taken in by the Keeper of Words, she taught him how to write and read. He fell in love with the imaginative worlds that were created on every page. He excelled at everything the Keeper taught him and he wanted to learn more. It was then she decided to send him to an old friend - a high ranking military man. Baglam embraced the structure and higher learning.

After being gone for a long time, he finally came home. The Keeper was surprised at how he'd grown in both body and mind and embraced him then kissed his cheek. Slightly embarrassed, he gave her smile. 

     "I've been named the Guardian of Ellish-Phen," he said proudly. Happiness flooded her and tears flowed.
     "I'm so proud of you, son," she said.

No one bothers Ellish-Phen unless they want to feel the wrath (and a good literary quote) from Baglam Dhak. He is the best there is.
