I don't get this picture. If the character is a drider, she should look like a drow, not a surface elf, and with the spider body submerged, she'd be in a really bad position, as the spider part would be busy drowning.

The spider part of the body isnt really an independent organism - pretty sure the spider book lungs on the bottom don't do much for a Drider, but since it is fantasy, you can interpret the biology either way. Also, since my own homebrew setting isn't directly based of most DnD/Pathfinder settings, other races can become Driders/Arachnes too. Eopeia is simply bathing in the moonlight.

given that the spider is a lot bigger than the humanoid torso, it can't breathe just from the humanoid lungs and needs its own book lung and/or tracheae, fed by spiracles that don't have any way to get shut, as spiders are not supposed to get into water at all.
