Eastern Timber wolves aka Algonquin wolves are one of the largest members of the canine family. Timber Wolves have a distinct appearance with their shaggy coat, sharp teeth, and piercing eyes. Their distinctive grey coat which lets them blend into their environment easily, and earned them another nickname of gray wolf. Their average lifespan in the wild is 6-8 years. They form packs of 5-10 and are lead by an alpha male and alpha female. Timber Wolves feed on large game, such as elk as well as small birds and mammals. They are adaptable to many environments and their habitat ranges from tundras to forests to mountains across North America, Europe, and Asia. They are a truely amazing anc beautiful creature.
