Kalendré

Queen Kalendré of the elves of the Greenwood gazed out over the land of her people from the highest balcony of the palace. Magnificent trees stood as resolute guards of her realm, their protective branches providing shelter and protection for the elves. The setting sun stretched the last of its warm rays over the intricate buildings twined vine in vine with the trees. Queen Kalendré smiled softly. The kingdom within the Greenwood was indeed splendid.

But even as she watched her people go about the last of their business before dark, she felt a touch of darkness brush her mind. With a glance to the north, the queen gasped as she saw something she would remember for the rest of her days.

An immense shadow, greater than that of a mountain, vanished behind the mountains. Queen Kalendré touched the blade that rested at her side, sending a quick plea to Elyon that she wouldn't have to use her weapon again. Last time it was nearly the downfall of her people, and she wouldn't risk it again.
