Who the heck is in charge of challenge themes at nightcafe?
Astronaut is the subject i'd use in an example of what's cliche or overdone in AI art. I feel like 99% of the themes they come up with basically cause everyone to create pretty prosaic stuff.
Your image is fine, nothing wrong with your astronaut, just musing about the current direction Nightcafe is taking.
They have this world-class algorithm but hamstring it by disallowing words (and not just the obvious ones, but VERY puritanical decisions about which words are being allowed). I'm guessing it's because they're AUS based and australia is very censor-heavy culturally.
I look at the feed, and the top pieces are almost always something derivative like an animal in a teacup. Or a doll-ified character.
I wish there was a Nightcafe for church moms and a Nightcafe for artists. It's like being in a crazy nightclub and then you realize half the tables have old ladies playing bridge at them.
