Throughout different epochs of the world, the Ñoldor have distinguished themselves as great enemies of two Dark Lords: Morgoth and Sauron. Songs recounting their deeds and exploits are sung even in the latest Ages of the World (and will be sung until the very end of the world).
The history of the Ñoldor and their wars are pivotal to J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium and were present even in "The Book of Lost Tales," laying the groundwork for all subsequent stories recounted in "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings."
