Will Eisner

Will Eisner (William Erwin Eisner; 1917 – 2005) was a pioneering comic book artist and writer from the USA, widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of graphic novels and sequential art. His art style is characterised by dynamic storytelling, expressive characters, and innovative page layouts that pushed the boundaries of comic book storytelling. Eisner primarily used pen and ink, combining traditional illustration techniques with a deep understanding of narrative structure to create works that are both visually compelling and emotionally resonant. His work is associated with the development of the modern graphic novel, particularly through his seminal series The Spirit and later works like A Contract with God.
