I walk back into my room and turn my phone on to find 284 unread messages. I open my phone and all the messages are from grandma. What's today? I quickly search for the date and realize Grandma thinks I went camping a month ago. Holy crap. I quickly skim through the messages. “Hey darling, are you alright? Where are you? … Honey it’s been 2 weeks what happened? … Crystal respond to me please, you have me dead worried!!” I feel terrible now. My phone was dead most of the time, and I finally got to charge it here. Then I see this. I scroll through them all, but notice that the notification number doesn’t get to 0. It says 2. I look around, one being from Ashley. “Girl, WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU IT’S BEEN A MONTH!!! WHEN I FIND YOU YOU BETTER HAVE A GOOD EXPLANATION ON WHY I SHOULD LET YOU LIVE!!!”

 Oops. My death lies near I guess. But that was only one message. I look again, and it says a random number. I opened it thinking it was a scam. But something it said tugged me a bit, strangely drawing me in. “Hey sweetie, we hope you’re okay. Mom gave me your number, and she’s dead worried about you. She said she let you go camping and then never responded to her. Honey please be safe, it’s been a while. We want to see you again.” Tears started running down my cheeks. This can’t be…am I reading this right…? I hear a soft knock on the door and quickly wipe my face clean. “Yes?” Alex peaks through the door. “Hey Crys…just came to check on you.” I chuckle. “I’m alright, thanks for asking. How’s Deliah?” He rolls his eyes. “In her room, probably doing something.” I pat a spot next to me on my bed, and he comes in, closing the door behind him and sitting down where I told him to. “I received 282 messages from my grandma.” Alex looks at me surprised.

“Oh God, we only said we were going to camp for one night…not a month!” I giggle. “Yep.” I pause. “Actually, I recieved 284 messages..but 2 weren’t from my grandma.” He tilts his head a little, curious. “One was from Ashley.” “Oh, I forgot about her-'' I roll my eyes and smile. “Of course you did, you’re too busy with me.” He looks down nervously and blushes. “But the second message…was from a number I don’t recognize.” He quickly looks up at me warningly. “But the way it was sent to me…” I swallow hard. 

“Well, you see your punishment isn’t over yet.” She grinned even harder causing the woman to cry very loud. Deliah put her hand over the woman's mouth and growled, “Your punishment hasn’t even started so quit yapping or I’ll give you something to cry about!” The woman sucked her breath up hard, and after a moment said, “Please don’t hurt me! I have a husband and 4 kids… '' Daken looked at Deliah and sternly said, “Lie.” Deliah looked at Daken and said “No dip, you unwanted rat.” After Deliah went into her room Daken started crying. I try to comfort him when Alex walks over and all of the sudden says “Group hug!” I feel Alex's arms shove us all together and this was probably the first time the two boys had ever gotten along.
