The Blues🔵 and Greens🟢 were powerful racing factions in the Byzantine Empire, named after the team colors they represented. More than just sports teams, they played huge roles in politics and society of Constantinople, the capital. 🔵Blues, usually backed the religious orthodoxy and the aristocracy, while 🟢Greens often supported common people and were anti-establishment. They're infamous for the Nika riots of 532 AD, which started as a protest against Emperor Justinian, but turned into a city-wide riot with a big impact.
