Smart. Mondrian did this very thing more abstractly, juxtaposing highly abstracted treeform and forest patterns with his subsequent renowned geometric compositions invoking cityscape birdseye views, which might be what the trees were also about, now that I think about it... conjecture, of course. Only so many answers you can winkle out of a dead star.
