Ashildr was panting and fighting hard to suppress the urge to throw up. Her heart was beating so fast she felt the blood rush through her every vein. There were times, she had to admit to herself, when she enjoyed the rush of the chase, but only on her terms. Being thrown into a pit of bloodthirsty drones in unknown hunting grounds was not her idea of a fun adventure.
Ahem. The strange figure cleared their throat. They were standing a few paces away, upright, straight, as if they had been standing their for eternity. No sign that they had been rushing to her rescue, pulling her onwards with a superhuman strength and speed she had not witnessed before.
Oh, yes, th-thank you. she panted. In her head, several questions formed all at once - Where are we? What were those things? Who the hell are you? - but she just kept on panting, trying to slow down her breath. The figure probably did not want to kill her on the spot, so that was an improvement.
