What if she was a little bit older and a LOT more competent?

In the anime (old dub that I grew up with) Usagi was whiny and lazy and not very bright. It was so frustrating!! I mean, she was a pampered princess (literally) forced to fight against evil. Fine. Ignorance and inexperience would have been fine. But she acted like she was eight- not fourteen!

My Sailor Moon took the time to learn how to fight. She’s sensitive- both easily hurt and empathic. She has learning disabilities and struggles academically. She's an insomniac and always tired. But she tries. She practices martial arts with the girls, she studies with Mamoru and Ami. She learns and improves.
